At least at this point in the season, the best in the west appears to have the edge over the best in the east.

The WMBL's two division leaders met in Medicine Hat Sunday afternoon as the west-leading Mavericks doubled up the east-leading Swift Current Indians 12-6.

The Mavericks offense proved to be far too much for Indians' Starting Pitcher Braulio Torres-Perez.

An error, hit by pitch, triple, single, single, single, single led to six Medicine Hat runs in the top of the second, before they added two more runs on Perez in the bottom of the fourth, knocking the Swift Current Starter out of the game after just 3.1 innings.

Perez finished with 8 runs on his record, 5 of them earned on 9 hits and a walk.

Trailing 11-1 after five innings, the Tribe did their best to turn the game around, however the hole proved to be too deep.

Swift Current picked up a pair of runs in six, two more in eight and another in nine, but that only pulled them within a 12-6 final score.

With the loss, the Indians fell to 11-4 on the season after coming up short in Regina on Saturday.

The Indians still lead the Red Sox by two games for top spot int he WMBL's East Division.
