New Physician Added in Leader

Dr. Satbir Singh Jhand has joined the Primary Health Care Medical Clinic in Leader as a full-time physician.

"Dr. Jhand started his practice earlier in February, and he will join two other physicians out in Leader, Dr. Hoque and Dr. Palangi, along with nurse practitioner Mikki Millar in providing primary health care services out in Leader and surrounding areas," said Bryce Martin, Executive Director of Communications for the Cypress Health Region. "He and the other physicians and nurse practitioner will see patients who come to the clinic for their primary health care needs, as well he will join the other two physicians in providing on call services for the in-patients at the Leader hospital, along with taking his turn in being responsible for the emergency out-patient department at the Leader hospital."

Dr. Jhand received his medical degree in 1985 in India where he practiced family medicine, and has successfully completed the Saskatchewan International Physician Practice Assessment program in Saskatoon in September of 2014.

Martin adds a third addition to the team allows for a work-life balance, which ultimately leads to keeping health care professionals in the southwest.
