"Relay For Life Week" in Swift Current

Deb Waker from the Canadian Cancer Association appeared at City Council this week to proclaim this week Relay for Life Week in Swift Current.

This years Relay for Life is set for this coming Saturday at Riverside Park from 7 pm to 7 am.

Full Interview with Verena Marsden"We are still just firming up local entertainment," said Verena Marsden with the Swift Current Canadian Cancer Society. "We got a lot of great local bands and entertainment coming out on Saturday. Just finishing up organizing setting up the site."

In 2011 Realay for Life raised over $3 million dollars over 26 events in Saskatchewan.

"This Thursday night we are having a bank night so any teams that are out there can come on in and bring in pledges and things of that nature certainly can from 7 pm to 9 pm," added Marsden. "It will be at the Cancer Society offices at 43 First Ave North East."

Interested participants may still join a team, create their own team or register as a survivor.
