Saskatchewan RCMP took part in Operation Impact over the Thanksgiving long weekend.

Operation Impact is a National Strategy that was created to help decrease collision by concerting police efforts through increasing patrols, education and enforcement.

Over 3000 drivers were stopped in the blitz, and 1283 were given speeding tickets, 48 were given impaired driving charges, 25 were given roadside suspensions, there were 34 seatbelt tickets and 31 prohibited drivers were also charged.

RCMP would like to remind the public that safety on the highway is everyones responsibility and to take steps to ensure that you are abiding by all the rules of the road, especially with winter rapidly approaching.
