Some major steps were taken on Wednesday in the development of the new Saskatchewan Health Authority(SHA).

Health Minister Jim Reiter, along with Rural and Remote Health Minister Greg Ottenbreit, announced that Scott Livingstone has been named CEO of the new health authority, that will replace all of the regional health authorities.

He will take the role formally once the Sask Health Authority is established.

Also, Dr. Preston Smith was appointed as a member of the Saskatchewan Health Authority Board of Directors.

The official date the Provincial Health Authority Act is proclaimed and the SHA date of establishment is still unknown, though officials say it will be late this fall.
