A stolen vehicle from Swift Current was recovered this past weekend in Alberta after a brief police chase.

On Saturday the Swift Current RCMP notified the Medicine Hat Police of the vehicle in their area thanks to a GPS system.

The police were able to track it to a private driveway with two occupants in it who failed to follow directions to exit the vehicle.

Instead, the male driver drove off from the police before stopping in a yard. The two occupants then took off running but were located a short time later with assistance from the police K9 unit.

A 26-year-old male and a 26-year old female, both from Medicine Hat, have each been charged with one count of possession of stolen property over $5,000, resisting arrest, and flight from police. The male also faces a breach of probation charge.
