It's the first weekend of May, and the southwest is starting to buzz with activity.

Ladybug Tradeshow

The highly anticipated spring tradeshow is popping up at the Stockade building today in Kinetic Park, with over 100 vendors. With Mother's Day just around the corner, this is the perfect opportunity to look for a special gift for Mom ... or yourself!

International Female Ride Day

Swift Current and area residents are invited to attend a meet-and-greet event at K Motel today for the 18th annual globally recognized day to celebrate female motorcycle riders. International Female Ride Day happens on the first Saturday of May.

Red Dress Day Gathering

The newly formed Red Dress Awareness Southwest is hosting a presentation at the Swift Current Library today to educate and spread awareness about Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two Spirit People. A beading workshop will follow the talk.

Spring Fling Disc Golf Tournament

The Canadian Mental Health Association is hosting its third annual disc golf tournament fundraiser this afternoon at Riverside Park. All skill levels are welcome to participate, and a free clinic beforehand will help introduce people to the sport.

Walk for Byron Watson

Friends, family, and community members will gather at the location where Byron Watson was last seen before he went missing in November. The walk starts at noon tomorrow, and everyone who joins is encouraged to wear red as a nod to Red Dress Day and MMIWG2S.
