More details regarding the Cypress Credit Union in Burstall being partially destroyed and cash stolen early Sunday morning have been released.

The Leader RCMP was alerted of the incident on at 4:16 a.m. that there was a break-and-enter at the business.

The building was hit multiple times by a front-end loader that tore apart the facility's front office and lobby area. There was an ATM in this area that had a sum of cash that had been reported as stolen.

Early investigations have uncovered the front-end loader was stolen in Burstall mere hours before the incident. A truck used to haul the ATM was taken from Leader during the night of December 16.

The front-end loader and destroyed ATM have since been recovered. The stolen truck along with parts of the ATM were found later yesterday about 10 kilometres west of Liebenthal.

The stolen money has yet to be found.

Anyone with information on this incident can contact the Leader RCMP at 306-628-4600.
