The Saskatchewan Ministry of Highways and Infrastructure is reminding motorists to drive safely in the 'Snow Zone'.

The ministry operates snowplows on provincial highways, which can cause a 'mini blizzard' at the rear and sides of the truck, epecially in windy conditions.  This increase the risk of collisions on the highway.

The bright yellow paint on the plow, and the flashing yellow and red lights on the rear of the vehicle help to make the plow visible through snow while it is in operation.

Motorists are advised to keep a safe distance from snowplows when they are on the road, and wait until they pull over to allow traffic to pass, which is usually every 10 kilometres.
