There has been an outbreak declared in the Cypress Health Region this morning. Six people have presented gastro-intestinal simmilar symptoms in the Herbert area. Samples have been sent to the Saskatchewan Disease Control Laboratory in Regina.
"There was a total of 6 that presented signs and symptoms, the samples have been sent and we're awaiting those results." said Director of Occupational and Public Health Jeff Schwan.
"You want to make sure you're washing your hands regularly with warm water and soap for at least 30 seconds, and that will help stop the germs from spreading." he added.
The region’s Infection Control Team is coordinating the efforts of additional cleaning within the facility and implementing additional protocols to assist in eliminating any potential risk for further spread.
It is important to note that everyone can play a role in reducing the risk.
