In the June 10 COVID-19 update from The Saskatchewan Health Authority they are reporting a total of 77 new cases of the virus.

Of those 77 new cases there are 9 in the Far North West zone, 1 in the Far North East zone, 8 in the North West zone, 10 in the North Central zone, 18 in the Saskatoon zone, 1 in the Central East zone, 8 in the Regina zone, 12 in the South Central zone, and 7 in the South East zone.

There are 2 new cases in the South West zone - 1 in the South West subzone 1, and 1 in the South West subzone 2.

There is 1 new case with pending residence information.

There are 8 cases with pending residence information assigned as follows -  1 to the Far North West zone, 1 to the North West zone, 2 to the North Central zone, and 4 to the Regina zone.

Eighteen cases tested out of the province were added as follows - 1 to the North Central zone, 7 to the Saskatoon zone, 1 to the Central West zone, 8 to the Regina zone, and 1 case with pending residence information.

One case in the South Central zone was found not to be a Saskatchewan resident and was removed from the case counts.

That brings the provincial total number of cases to 47,668, of which 902 are considered active.

There are 14 active cases in the South West zone - 7 in the South West subzone 1, and 7 in the South West subzone  2.

The seven-day average of new COVID-19 cases is 79 (6.4 new cases per 100,000 population).

There is 1 new death reported in the 70-79 age group from the Central East zone.

That brings the provincial total number of deaths to 553.

There are 129 recoveries reported, bringing that provincial total to 46,213.

There have been some outbreaks reported around the South West -at The Natural Wonders Early Learning Center - Sask Valley Location (Infant/Toddler Group), the Swift Current Childcare Centre, and the Elmwood Golf Course Restaurant /Lounge, all in Swift Current.

There are 101 people in the hospital. Eighty-two people are receiving inpatient care, including 1 patient from Manitoba - 1 in the Far North West zone, 12 in the North West zone, 5 in the North Central zone, 26 in the Saskatoon zone, 4 in the Central East zone, 29 in the Regina zone, 3 in the South Central zone, and 1 in the South East zone.

There is 1 person receiving inpatient care in the South West zone.

There are 19 people in intensive care - 1 in the North West zone, 4 in the North Central zone, 8 in the Saskatoon zone, 1 in the Central East zone, and 4 in the Regina zone.

There is 1 person in intensive care in the South West zone.

The Weekly Monitoring Report for Children and Youth aged 0-19 years for the week of May 24-30 is reporting a total of 490 active cases in children and youth in the province with 3 cases with location/residence information unavailable - 14 in the Far North West zone, 1 in the Far North Central zone, 11 in the Far North East zone, 37 in the North West zone, 54 in the North Central zone, 1 in the North East zone, 5 in the Central West zone, 45 in the Central East zone, 145 in the Saskatoon zone, 84 in the Regina zone, 32 in the South Central zone, and 37 in the South East  zone.

There were 21 cases in the South West zone - 9 in the South West subzone 1, and 12 in the South West subzone 2.

COVID-19 cases in schools over the past 14 days include The Tompkins School, The Gull Lake High School, and Central School, O.M. Irwin School (and school bus), All Saints Catholic School, and the Swift Current Comprehensive High School, all in Swift Current.

To date, there has been 882,144 COVID-19 tests processed in Saskatchewan.

And yesterday, there were 2,503 COVID-19 tests processed.

As of June 9, there are a total of 11,504 variants of concern cases identified by screening in the province - 274 in the Far North West zone, 1 in the Far North Central zone, 74 in the Far North East zone, 715 in the North West zone, 536 in the North Central zone, 75 in the North East zone, 1,965 in the Saskatoon zone, 120 in the Central West zone, 626 in the Central East zone, 4,721 in the Regina zone, 839 in the South Central zone, and 1,103 in the South East zone.

There are a total of 388 in the South West zone.

There are 67 screened variants of concern cases with residences pending.

No new lineage results were reported today.

Of the 6,115 variants of concern cases with lineages identified by whole genome sequencing in the province, 5,866 are Alpha (B.1.1.7), 194 are Gamma (P.1), 45 are Delta (B.1.617.2), and 10 are Beta (B.1.351).

An additional 16,787 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been given in the province, bringing the total number administered to 845,439.

Out of those 16,787 vaccine doses given, there were 816 administered in the South West zone.

Seventy-eight percent of residents over the age of 40, 73% of those over 30, 68% of those over 18, and 66% of those over 12 have received their first vaccine dose.

Saskatchewan is expecting another 3,000 doses of the Moderna vaccine, along with 74,880 doses of Pfizer vaccine this week.
