A large crowd of concerned citizens and representatives from the Cypress Health Region attended the physician services meeting in Leader yesterday.

Leader was facing the possibility of having only one physician after Dr Tshabala gave notice that he would be leaving at the end of September to return to South Africa.

However, at the meeting, he announced that he would not leave at the end of September and will complete his contract, which ends September 2010.

Health Services Manager for Leader, Kathy Miller says with the announcement, Leader will not see a disruption at this time in its 24-hour services.

At the meeting, it was also announced that an interview is set up for another individual who would fill the third physician position.
