Canadian municipalities and the federal government need to communicate better.

That from Mayor Sandy Larson who was in Ottawa last week, attending a conference of the Federation of Canadian Municipalities.

Last night at city hall, she said the feds need to better understand towns and cities.

" We have not done a good job of building relationships, strong working relationships.  Some of the people that we spoke to didn't even know what FCM was all about and what our priorities were and what municipalities were involved.  There's a definite communications gap."

Mayor Larson sits on the FCM board as the Saskatchewan representative.

She says she'll have a full report on the conference at the Dec. 11 council meeting.
