An American hunter who recently received an unusual punishment in Missouri is also facing charges in Saskatchewan.

David Berry Jr., who was sentenced to watch the movie Bambi repeatedly as part of his sentence for illegal hunting in the United States, is facing eight charges, potential fines in excess of $15,000, and a hunting suspension in Saskatchewan under the wildlife act.

Berry Jr. came to Canada in 2016 to hunt duck with Cody Scott in the Rosetown area, but instead, they shot a number of white-tailed deer, a coyote, a badger and an antelope.

Scott is facing 14 charges potential fines of almost $26,000 and a hunting suspension.

Two men from Saskatchewan were fined $6,250 for their part, and suspended from hunting for a year.
