Despite these past few rainy days, the temperatures have been higher than average this fall, and that's even surprised Environment Canada's David Phillips.

"I could not have predicted how gorgeous the weather would have been in the last month or so," he said. "People were pinching themselves... Great for growers and farmers. You couldn't have ordered better weather, and I think the harvest is certainly well underway."

Phillips adds that the precipitation for this month is up, but the warm summery weather isn't over.

"Next week, a little bit of a warm up begins," he added. "The normals for this time of year in Swift Current should be a high of around 16 degrees."

He adds that we shouldn't be expecting frost until the end of October.

"Will you get a frost, and maybe a dusting of snow before Halloween? I think you'd be far better to bet that than not, but that doesn't necessarily ruin October."

Looking at the forecast, the rain has moved out of the southwest and temperatures are expected to warm back up into the mid-teens, despite a cool start to the day today. For the latest forecast details, click the Local Weather link on Swift Current Online.
