Local RCMP are reporting several instances of theft from parked vehicles in Swift Current, with the most recent theft occurring on Tuesday.

"During the night, a pick-up truck parked on the 100 block of 6th Avenue South East in Swift Current, was entered and had property stolen from inside. In addition to this event, over the last two to three weeks, the Swift Current Municipal RCMP has received multiple reports of the same nature where parked vehicles are being entered during the night," said Constable David Whitley.

Since the beginning of the month, he says there have been about a dozen reports of similar thefts, saying a common theme in all cases has been the vehicles were left unlocked.

"These incidents are being reported from all over the city, occurring on any given night," Constable Whitley said.

He advises motorists to always lock vehicles when left unattended and asks anyone with information to contact the RCMP.
