Swift Current's Christmas light displays are going up around the city this week to get the community into the holiday spirit.  This year's light displays will be a little "greener".

City Light and Power crews are buys installing the displays on downtown light standards, at Memorial Park, and are putting up the downtown Christmas tree.

Director of City Light and Power Mitch Minken says most of the light bulbs being used are the L-E-D type, which use considerably less energy than traditional bulbs:

Minken adds along with the tree, about half of the light-standard displays and two displays at Memorial Park are exclusively L-E-D.
