The Canadian Food Inspection Agency and Rollover Premium Pet Food Limited are recalling certain dog treats, due to a presence of Salmonella bacteria.

The affected products are Roll Over Pork Tenders Dog Treats, sold in 50 gram packages, with lot stamps up to and including 07 MAR 10.

The product is available nationally, and according to local veterinarian Dr Loretta Fritz, it is a popular brand of dog treats in the Shaunavon area.

The Salmonella bacteria can affect humans too, if they were to handle the treats directly, or contact pets who have eaten or touched the product.

Consumers are being asked to throw away the treats immediately, and go to the CFIA Website at www.inspection.gc.ca for more details.
