A growing customer base and competitive rates helped SaskEnergy post a strong financial year in 2009.

The Crown Corporation announced in its year-end financial report on Monday that earnings were up from $56 million in 2008, to $64 million in 2009.  Of that, $51 million will be paid in a dividend to the government.

SaskEnergy says customers enjoyed the lowest commodity rates since 2001, and the lowest delivery rates in Canada.  Also, service was expanded to Air Ronge, La Ronge, and the Lac La Ronge Indian Band in northern Saskatchewan.
