The Kabos Bantam 'AA' Raiders and Moose Jaw Warriors got their best of three opening playoff series underway last night.

Playing in Moose Jaw, the two teams played a triple overtime thriller with Swift Current eventually coming away with a 1-0 win.

Throughout the game, both teams had opportunities to open the scoring, including multiple power-play chances.

During the three regulation periods, Swift Current had five power-play opportunities but were unable to convert, while Moose Jaw was unsuccessful on their three chances.

Following a scoreless first overtime session, Moose Jaw went to the power-play in the second overtime looking to end the game, however, Raiders' goalie Brad Nyen continued to stand tall and keep the game scoreless.

Having already played 90 minutes of hockey (a 10 minute first overtime and a 20 minute second overtime), the two teams returned to the ice for triple overtime.

Just 2:12 into the third extra session, Raiders' regular season scoring leader Aaron Toews buried the game winner.

In the end, Nyen turned aside 41 Moose Jaw shots for the shutout.

With the victory, the Raiders now hold a 1-0 lead in the best of three series against the Warriors.

Swift Current will now have a chance to close the series at tomorrow at home.

The two teams will meet at 2:45pm from the Credit Union iPlex.

If necessary, game three will be played Sunday afternoon in Moose Jaw.
